It’s New Year’s Eve,
We’re set to go!
What will it bring?
Do you know?

Happiness and joy?
Sorrow and tears?
Some of both –
Like other years.

This turning world,
Moves through space –
The years fly past.
And by the grace

Of some great power,
We go on –
Minute by minute,
Hour to hour.

The road ahead,
Unknown as yet –
Its highs and lows
Will soon be met.

Don’t rush along,
Take it slow.
Savor each moment,
Because you know

It goes by fast,
There is no brake.
This thing called time
Just doesn’t make

Apologies for
The concerns of man
Before you’re ready
It’s here again!

The night before
The new bell rings,
We hope so much,
For all good things,

In this new year,
And so we go –
What will it bring?
